It uses two filters: an H13 filter with a fine-mesh pre-filter that stops larger particles like dust, pet hair and human hair, and a separate carbon filter. The H13 filter helps capture particles as small as 0.003 microns. Both filters come in the box.

Yes, the Klarta Stor runs at 24 dB(A) on Silent and in Sleep Mode, its quietest settings; Turbo, its top speed, reaches 71 dB(A). Press Sleep twice on the panel or remote and the fan holds that quietest speed while the control panel and air quality light go dark. Auto Sleep, set in the Smart Life app, moves between the three quietest speeds and stays at or below 36 dB(A). One press of Sleep turns off just the backlight in any mode.

Yes, in Auto mode the Klarta Stor reads the air with a laser PM2.5 sensor and sets the fan speed for you. It steps up to a faster speed when PM2.5 rises and holds each speed for at least 4 minutes before stepping down once the air clears. Auto Turbo, the default, uses all 6 speeds; in the Smart Life app you can pick Auto Normal, which skips Turbo and peaks at 57 dB(A), or Auto Sleep for the night.

The Klarta Stor draws 5–7 W on Silent and in Sleep Mode and up to 102 W on Turbo, its strongest speed. In the automatic modes, Auto Sleep peaks at 11 W and Auto Normal at 31 W. The exact draw depends on whether Wi-Fi is on and whether the backlight is off. It runs on 120 V, 60 Hz power and still draws some power in standby, so unplug it if you won't use it for a long time.

Yes, the Klarta Stor works with the free Smart Life app for iOS and Android over a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. To pair, hold the Wi-Fi button for 3 seconds until the icon blinks, then add it in the app. The app lets you choose any of the 6 speeds, Sleep Mode or an auto mode, switch auto modes by time of day, turn on Child Lock and reset the filter counter. Without the app, use the control panel or the included remote.

Klarta recommends replacing the Klarta Stor's H13 and carbon filters at least once a year, depending on use and local air quality. The display tells you when they are due. The Stor Genuine Filter Replacement Set costs $68 and is in our replacement filters collection. After a change, hold Reset for 6 seconds or choose Settings > Reset filter in the app; the reset works only once the filter alert is lit. Check the pre-filter every 2 weeks and vacuum it on low.
